List of insurances we accept:
Delta Dental, Dentaquest (Ucare), Cigna, MetLife, United Concordia, United Healthcare, Sunlife, Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, BCBS Advantage Plus, GEHA, Guardian, Principal, Aetna, Ameritas
*Please note that large insurance companies often include multiple subgroup plans, and your specific coverage will fall under one of these subgroups. It is the patient’s responsibility to contact their insurance provider to confirm whether their particular plan is in-network with Hernick Family Dental. While we may be in-network with the parent company (e.g., Aetna Dental), we may not be in-network with every individual subgroup plan.
Even if your plan is out-of-network, we are still able to submit claims to your insurance on your behalf.

For your initial visit, please bring a valid photo ID, your dental insurance information if applicable, and any relevant medical records. We recommend completing new patient forms in advance to streamline your check-in process. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to complete new patient paperwork if you plan to fill these out in office. Contact our office for more details or to schedule your appointment.

One of the questions we get asked most often in dentistry is about the radiation from x-rays. This quick guide will help put things into perspective by showing how much radiation we’re exposed to naturally, and how much comes from man-made sources.
In the U.S., radiation is regulated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). If you’re curious, you can check them out at www.NRC.gov. There’s also more info on the Environmental Protection Agency’s site: www.epa.gov/radiation/understand/perspective.html.
On average, people in the U.S. get about 620 milliRems (mRem) of radiation per year. Interestingly, more than half of that comes from natural sources—like radon gas, outer space, the ground, and even some foods. The rest comes from everyday products like building materials, smoke detectors, exit signs, and medical treatments.
According to the NRC, the maximum safe dose of radiation for the general public is 5,000 mRem per year. The chart below breaks down how much radiation comes from different sources to give you a better idea of where your exposure might be coming from.
